Web poker has become globally celebrated as of late, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game events. Its popularity, though, stretches back in fact a bit farther than its TV scores. Over the years several variants on the earliest poker game have been created, including some games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these particular games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely affiliated with blackjack than old guard poker, in that the gamblers wager against the dealer rather than the other players. The succeeding hands, are the established poker hands. There is little bluffing or other kinds of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up prior to the croupier declares "No more wagers." At that point, both you and the dealer and of course all of the other gamblers acquire five cards. After you have looked at your hand and the casino’s 1st card, you must either make a call wager or accede. The call wager’s value is equal to your original wager, indicating that the stakes will have doubled. Surrendering means that your wager goes immediately to the house. After the bet comes the face off. If the casino does not have ace/king or better, your bet is returned, including a figure on par with the ante. If the casino does have ace/king or better, you win if your hand defeats the dealer’s hand. The bank pays out money equal to your original bet and fixed odds on your call bet. These odds are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • two to one for two pairs
  • three to one for 3 of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • twenty to one for a 4 of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
