Internet poker has become world acclaimed lately, with televised events and celebrity poker game shows. The games universal appeal, though, arcs back in reality a bit farther than its TV scores. Over the years many variants on the earliest poker game have been created, including a few games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of the above-mentioned games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely affiliated with vingt-et-un than old guard poker, in that the players bet against the house instead of the other players. The winning hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is no bluffing or different types of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up prior to the croupier announcing "No more bets." At that moment, both you and the bank and of course all of the different gamblers receive 5 cards. Once you have looked at your hand and the bank’s first card, you must either make a call wager or accede. The call bet’s value is equal to your original ante, indicating that the stakes will have increased two fold. Giving Up means that your wager goes immediately to the dealer. After the bet is the showdown. If the dealer doesn’t have ace/king or greater, your bet is given back, with a figure in accordance with the ante. If the casino has a hand with ace/king or better, you succeed if your hand beats the casino’s hand. The dealer pays out chips even with your wager and controlled expectations on your call wager. These odds are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for two pairs
  • three to one for 3 of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • 20-1 for a four of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
